Rooted in Christ and place
We began when a handful of believers saw the same need in our neighbourhood: children needed steady help, adults needed dignity and skills, and elders needed community, not only in emergencies.
“Agape” is the love God showed us in Christ, love that acts, not sentiment alone. That word keeps us accountable. We exist to share the gospel and to show that love in real rooms, on real schedules, with real people.
Our mission
We proclaim Jesus Christ, His death, resurrection, and offer of new life, and we invite everyone to hear, question, and respond. Alongside that, we run classes, meals, and gatherings so neighbours can grow in skill, confidence, and belonging.
Who shows up
- Pastors and lay leaders who teach Scripture and pray with the community
- Volunteer tutors from the same streets as the learners
- Part-time facilitators paid fairly for preparation and follow-up
- A board of local residents who review budgets and outcomes quarterly
- Partners who lend space, expertise, or materials, not logos for display
Open community day: volunteers and families
Authenticity is a practice, not a slogan.
Every programme is an opportunity to point people to Jesus, with respect and without pressure.
Annual summaries of income, spending, and programme reach shared with the community.
Facilitators and board members are listed publicly. You can ask who decided what.
We hire and train from within the neighbourhood before looking elsewhere.
Next: What we do: the classes and activities in detail.
